El Paso Pickup Soccer Rules | Safe & Fair Play Guide
We keep it simple, competitive, and fun — but it only works when everyone’s on the same page. Here’s how we run the game:
Be On Time – Actually, Be Early
Arrive 15 minutes early to stretch, lace up, help set up the field, and get teams sorted. When everyone’s ready before kickoff, we can maximize our full 2 hours of play. More soccer, less standing around.
Game Format
- Small-sided: 5v5, 7v7, 11v11 — depends on the turnout and field.
- Fast-paced, lots of touches, and space to play.
Team Rotation (if applicable)
- Winner stays — max of 2 games.
- Loser rotates out.
- Got a new team waiting? First team off helps form the next. Keep it moving!
Kickoff & Restarts
- Center start after every goal.
- No offsides.
- Sideline: Kick-in or throw-in (just stay consistent each game).
- End line: Corner kick or goal kick.
Fouls & Contact
- Call your own fouls and respect the call — no arguing. We WILL ALL ask you to leave.
- No Team Swapping or Jersey Switches - UNLESS approved by the host.
- Absolutely NO slide tackling.
- Shoulder-to-shoulder is okay; reckless or dangerous play is not.
- ZERO tolerance for pushing (shoulder contact only). You will receive a foul and asked to leave.
- Foul language toward another player for any reason is just as equal as a physical foul. You will receive a foul for this child-like behavior. We represent the community and doing so we promote respect to one another, positive play, and acts of kindness.
- 2 fouls = you're out for the season We’re here to play, not injure each other.
- A single personal foul will expire from your active record after 90 days, but it will still remain on your permanent player history.
No Keeper Rules (Optional)
- If there’s no designated goalie, no hand use — unless both teams agree ahead of time.
Time Limit
- We usually have 2-hour field reservations.
- If everyone’s on time, we get the most out of it. Don’t be that guy who shows up late and slows the rotation.
